Is it the top of the foot only and not the toes? Any other part of the leg that's swollen? Is the area tender to the touch?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Toes ok some ankle swelling after being on my feet a lot. The top of my foot is tender

I have pain in the nite.

Well, this could be tenosynovitis--inflammation of the tendons that cross the top of the foot, but I'm a little concerned about the ankle and foot swelling since that might be a sign of a deep venous thrombosis--a clot in a leg vein--and that could cause a life threatening pulmonary embolus. Ibuprofen and capsaicin cream could help but you really need to have this evaluated by your doctor as soon as possible. If it's tenosynovitis, a course of prednisone or a cortisone injection would help.
