I am a 52yo male and have had a CT scan done with a score of 31. I have mild hypertension my systolic varies between 140 to 125 medicated and under control as well as medicated cholesterol also under control. While I'm not a marathon runner I am active and exercise regularly my weight is also good and diet is now strictly controlled low fat with vitamins & supplements etc. I do have an elder brother with a history of heart disease 2 stents but the rest of my family has no history. I've been given a score of 31 in the 50th to 60th percentile for my age. What does this all mean ? With thanks.
HelloIt means you only have mild to moderate riskDo you have any symptoms at all, ever?
Moderate risk of what ? So i'm not going to drop dead anytime soon ? Symptoms not that am aware of although I do have gastritis which which obviously mimics chest pain occasionally and my heart thumps. My score in 2007 was 18.With Thanks
This is pretty low risk as scores goThere should be a scale on the reportWhat this really means is that there is no real strong correlation here with any actual problem plaque in the arteries. And I would simply do a stress test..this is far more practical and definitive.
