Greetings,

How long the symptoms are present? Does it occur only at night? How frequently the pain is coming? Can you elaborate the precise site of pain, any radiation to other place & if so, where? Is there any aggravating or relieving factor or any relation to food? How are stool & urine? Is there any area of tenderness? Are there other related symptoms? Was any test taken? Is there any significant past illness?

Regards.

Have fibroids. Had depo shot in march. These are not menstral cramps. As my period just finished little over one week ago.
Problem persistent at night only for two or so months.
Trying to turn from on side position to laying on back is excruciating. Once on back sharp pains pierce lower back on right only. Above butt crack.
Stays tender at all times but pain only in evening. Stools increased with vegetable increase.
No radiation of pain just sharp stabbing sensation.
No tests taken.
Wonder if it's related to sugar intake. Had increased sugar today nd yesterday and pain came. Hadn't taken notice before. Sharp frontal cramping came today as well. No menstration. So I don't believe it's that.

Thank you for the input.

There are a few possibilities. There can be impingement of nerve causing the feeling. This can occur in the spine. This can be affected by posture on sleeping. It can also be due to kidney or urinary. Common causes of kidney pain are an infection or stone. It is not related to sugar. I would advise to get it checked by doctor when it is continuing. X ray, scan, ultrasound etc can be taken for diagnosis. You can apply warm moist compress. If the pain is much, analgesics with antiinflammatory actions like motrin or naproxen can be taken if there is no contraindication. You need to take it after meal to avoid gastric irritation.

If you have any query, please feel free to ask.
It will be my privilege to assist you.
Regards.

Dairy may not be related to it. Kidney or urinary pain can be felt both in front or back.Pressure may help in some cases.

Depo can cause abdominal pain, cramps. But pain at a certain point of the back is likely to have local cause like a muscle, spine or kidney issue.
