Since when do you have UTI?
Was a urine test and culture done?
Are you diabetic?
Any significant past medical illness?

This started Monday afternoon. After taking the Silver Biotics it was much better by Thursday morning. This morning it is worse. I am not diabetic. Urine test/culture not done. I had lymphoma in 2010, all scans since are clear.

Thanks Kathy for the further information.

If your symptoms are mild; you may continue the following (some of which you are already doing) for a day or two;

1) Drinking plenty of water and fluids (about 3 to 3.5 liters per day).
2) Cranberry extract capsule
3) Azo / Pyridium (available without prescription); helps in pain and burning.
4) Avoid caffeine and alcohol drinks.

Ideally, a urine culture should be done. This tells about the best antibiotic to be effective against the infection. An antibiotic is recommended, if the symptoms are moderate to severe (and since your symptoms had come back).

Please feel free for your follow up questions.

I would be happy to assist you further, if you need any more information.

Thank you. I was hoping to avoid the traditional antibiotic route, as that will cause a yeast infection later (that has always happened in the past when I take antiobiotics.

You are very welcome, Kathy.

Plenty of fluids would be key here to eradicate the infection. You may get the pH of urine done (it is done in routine urine). If you have an acidic pH; take potassium citrate (Alkacitron or citra-alka). If you have alkaline pH, take 500mg twice a day, vitamin C. These will change the pH of the urine and create adverse environment for the bacteria; which helps in killing them.

It is privilege assisting you.
