Hello, I am a 26 year old female. On Monday April 30th I woke up and had really bad allergies (I think) my nose was running, I was sneezing, my eyes were watery. I had those symptoms all day, and I didn't have much of an appetite. I got home, made soup and while I was standing over the stove I felt faint, my ears were ringing, I lost balance and started losing sight so I laid down to avoid fainting. I have fainted a few times in the past, but haven't been diagnosed with anything. I laid for about 10 minutes and my ears felt full and were ringing a lot, I actually thought there was something in them, I was really confused and very nervous because I was home alone. I got back up and tried finishing up dinner, but I felt like I was going to faint again so I decided to lay down. I ate some food shortly after thinking that could help, but I couldn't eat much. I laid back down and felt really bad for the rest of the night. My chest started hurting, I thought because of anxiety, but it is now Thursday and I still have the same chest pain. I don't have the allergy symptoms anymore (those went away Monday night) My chest pain is dull, it doesn't really hurt, but I do notice it.. It goes from my lower neck (collar bone area) down to the middle of my chest and on both sides. I get some sharp pains randomly as well. I sneezed a few times today and that hurt my chest. I still don't have much of an appetite, and when I do eat, it doesn't feel good. The only time I don't feel the pain is when I am sleeping. My upper back hurts is tight as well. I have gotten heartburn a lot before this all happened, so I am not sure if it has anything to do with it. My regular Doctor won't be in office until tomorrow, but I am growing more nervous each day. Any info would be appreciated, I can't figure out what is wrong or if this could be something serious.
Hello I hope that I will be able to provide some information to help you.
First off I must emphasize that the information I provide is an educated guess and that only an actual examination will able to provide an accurate diagnosis. The allergies that you complain of may be a sinus infection or a congested sinus. The sinus can affect the inner ear causing a loss of balance or the fainting feeling. They would also explain the ringing or fullness in your ears. If you have a sinus infection it may have upper respiratory involvement. This could be the chest discomfort you are feeling. Obviously if you have shortness of breath or coughing this would confirm this but this does not always happen. If it is what I believe it is then simple antibiotics may be all you need. ThebootXXX XXne is that if you have increased chest pain significant shortness of breath of the feeling of impending doom then do not wait go to the hospital because there may be a cardiac issue.
I hope that my answer was helpful.
