Welcome to Just Answer.
Atenolol is a betablocker.
It would lower both the pulse rate & blood pressure.
So the doctor has prescribed it.

I hope this information helps.

I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.

Please feel free for any follow up query.

Best wishes.

For an adult normal blood pressure is considered as below 120 / 80 mmHg.

Though there is definite level for defining high blood pressure , there is
no such level for low blood pressure.

The lower limits of systolic pressure or the upper number usually is taken as 90 & diastolic is taken as 60 mm Hg.

If you do not feel any dizziness, lightheadedness, chest discomfort then these pulse & blood pressure are within normal levels.

You need to take the medicine at regular times every day.

Sometimes it is advised to take once or twice depending on the condition.

If it is once then you can take it in the morning.
