my wife has been diognosed with sludge in her galbladder.

Resolved Question:

my wife has been diognosed with sludge in her galbladder. she has had all the blood tests and ultra sounds to eliminate anything else as the cause of her pain. where there are no gal stones detected, is there anything that can be done to flush out the sludge or prevent it from cuasing her further pain. We are tracking her diet and nutrician to eliminate fat, spicy food or excess sugars; what else can we do?

She should get an HIDA scan, if not yet done. A biliary sludge can be associated with poorly functioning or non functioning gall bladder. That can cause pain. The treatment is thus gall bladder removal.

Just wanted to add the following; Ultrasound or CT scan cannot assess the gall bladder functions. Only an HIDA scan can tell about the functions of gall bladder. Thus HIDA is different than the ultrasound and CT.

It is privilege assisting you.
