This answer was rated:

I have been with my Girlfriend for about 7months. approx 6-8weeks ago, she got some growths on the genitals, which have now been identified as HPV, I have not had this before nor have I got any symptoms of them. She has never had them before either.

How does one get HPV if both parties were clear before getting together? I have been totally faithful, is this perhaps a sign that she has not been? I mean she didn't show any signs of HPV in the first 5months we were together. Could it be that she contracted them before we got together and it took 5months to show?

Based on her character and my trust in her, I would lean towards the latter. I do of course now have some doubts. Please advise.

Welcome to Just Answer.

Usually warts develop 6 weeks to 6 months after exposure.

But it can appear years after too.

So it is possible that the HPV infection occurred before.

Thank you.
