I have like a calous or some area on the side of my right foot

I have like a calous or some area on the side of my right foot big toe that hurts when i rub against my boot when i walk. Is it normal for that area to have a numb feeling to it? I can like press my finger nail in it like am eigth inch and it doesnt hurt.
