This answer was rated:

Hi Andy,

Thank you, XXXXX XXXXX had ordered some drugs from Hong Kong on 7 Jan - including azathioprine (modafinal is there as well). Perhaps he wouldn't take the aza (100 tabs,)they had told him he needed a blood test before. Maybe he was just tired of it all? Maybe it doesn't matter now.
But he did have some aza, although had not been taking them.
Sorry to bombard you again, can I send this further list to you (it's only short)? Lauren
Hi Lauren,
Sure, if you have another list I'll take a look at it.
Take care,
Andy

Hi Andy,

The Ventolin and Aza I know about, but what are the others used for?? Many thanks?

Do you think the anti-inflammatories (are these the Ibuprofen etc) would have been used to counter

the effects of Crohn's? Does it cause swelling of the gut? Yes, I know it's all academic now, I know it doesn't really matter how and why these were used....Lauren

Hi Lauren,
It looks like the Domperon (Domperidone)was the ?mperon from your previous list and Metoclopramide hydrochloride was the ?lodopramide hydrochloride. Modafinil could be ?DAFIN. So I think some of the mystery of the first list is solved.
The Domperidone and Metoclopramide both speed up the movement of the stomach and intestine. They are used primarily for heart burn and nausea. They might also help with some symptoms of Crohn's disease, such as abdominal bloating. Ondansetron prevents nausea and vomiting, while Modafinil is used to increase wakefulness. Sorry I don't know much about Crohn's disease, possibly these medications were to counter some of the symptoms. The Modafinil might have been to help with depression, though it is not used in that way. Possibly it was just for fatigue, maybe Crohn's wears you down, I just don't know. He could have been trying to self medicate the Crohn's and depression.I'll look into it a little further and get back to you.
Take care,
Andy
Hi Lauren,
I forgot to answer your other question. Yes ibuprofen can be used to treat mild Crohn's disease for it's anti-inflammatory effects, for severe cases, it is not very effective though. I did see where abdominal bloating can occur with Crohn's so that could have been the reason for the domperidone and metoclopramide, to keep the intestines moving so gas does not build up and cause bloating. I want to see if they are being promoted as an alternative treatment for Crohn's, legitimately or not, so I will have to get back to you on that.
Take care,
Andy
