Hi, Im trying to get a copy of my ex husbands death certificate

Customer Question

Hi, I'm trying to get a copy of my ex husband's death certificate for government purposes in the uk. He was British but died in America. I have filled in all the details on the website, they are aware I am an international customer but are still insisting I guve them a Social Security number. My British one is not accepted. I cannot find a telephone number on the website. I have contacted both the British Consul in Manhattan and the American Embassy in London; both of them have directed me to the website so I am going around in circles. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Have you contacted the NYC medical examiners office?

There was no trace of him. No DNA, nothing. He was placed by a phone call.

No, Dr Owen, I haven't been in contact with NYC Medical Examiners Office, you are the first person to suggestthis

Expert:  Dr. Owen replied 5 years ago.
Yes, you will actually need to call them

Yes you will actually need to call the office and since he is on the list of those that died, you should not have any problems in getting a death certificate.
Also, going to the NYC vital statistics office - you should be able to get a death certificate there too.
