How long are you having the symptoms?

When have you consulted doctor last?

Do you take any other medicine?

Did you have any test?

Do you have any other symptom or previous illness?

Thank you.

Had symptoms for 10 years. Doctor suggested botox, but won't file an insurance claim. Tried a medication for stomach ulcers but it didn't help me. Talked to the doctor 6 months ago. Take Prozac, wellbutrin, and synthroid. All my family sweats profusely.

Thank you for the information,

The treatment for hyperhydrosis will be more effective if a cause is found.

Treatment can be directed towards the specific cause.

If it is familial then symptomatic treatment to reduce the sweating is the option.

You have applied drysol already.

Other treatment options are glycopyrrolate, iontophoresis, injection of botox etc.

I hope this information helps.

Happy to assist, if you need any clarification.

Please feel free for any follow up query.

Best wishes.'

What are the possible explanations or causes?
Expert:  Dr. Saha replied 4 years ago.
There are several causes of increased sweating.

Anxiety tension itself is a cause of increased sweating.

Among other non medical causes alcohol, coffee, hot weather also have role.

Common medical causes are increased thyroid activity, decreased glucose level, infection, tumor, heart , lung disease etc.

You need to discuss with your doctor about the various possibilities causing the excess sweating & he may investigate to find out the exact cause of sweating.
