Resolved Question:

I know that scotch, burbon, and whiskey are sometimes considered after dinner drinks. I just had a large meal and was wondering if whiskey aids in the digestion process? just a little bit not enough to get drunk

Thank you for your question. They are called so only because they are absorbed slowly by our gut after a meal. They do not aid in digestion in any way. Also, these drinks have no nutritional value. So if you are thinking of consuming whiskey for the purpose of digesting the meal better, I would not recommend it.
