Hello,

When was the operation done?

How large is the wound?

How is the oozing? Is it profuse? Is there blood/ pus?

When did you last see doctor?

Which antibiotic are you using?

Thank you.

Hi--if the fluid coming from the wound is clear and not yellow, white, or green as in pus, this can be normal with a fresh open wound. It would be unusual for a significant infection to occur this early, but if the edges of the wound are red or there is pus draining, then your doctor needs to see the wound as soon as possible. For now I would suggest, if you were my patient, for you to apply only a dry dressing to the wound and to change the dressing when it became saturated.
