Hello
Stage 4 if to the other lung, and/or outside the lungs.
And not really a curable lung cancer.
In small cell for example...about a year or so with chemo.

good luck

I have read and reread the answer and I don't understand ANY part of it. Is it me?

Sage 4 if to the other lung - what does that mean.

Not really a curable lung cancer - ????

In small cell for example - what does that mean.

About a year or so with chemo - is THAT the prognosis....

As I said, it must be me because I don't understand what the answer is...

OK
Stage 4 is defined by metastasis to the other lung, or anywhere out side of the lungs.
This is not curable.
There are different types of lung cancer, but stage for does not respond well.
Small cell is a type of lung cancer that is fairly responsive to chemo and radiation but even that has a year or so...maybe 2 or so, with treatment.

no good prognosis at this point.

The 5 year survival rate for stage 4 lung cancer is less than 10%.

good luck again
