Resolved Question:

had an EGD done today, I was still groggy after procedure and don't remember what was said, but have results
It states, "Slightly irregular GE junction with edema. 4-quadrant biopsies taken. Mildly erthematous mucosa was found in the atrium. Normal duodenum."
What does that mean and can any of this be contributing to acid reflux?

Thanks for your question.

The reports shows edema (sewlling) at the junction of food pipe and stomach and in the and there is redness in atrium region. This reports doesnot shows anything which is the cause of your reflux rather the redness and edema and irregular area can be a result of acid reflux. So yes there is evidence of reflux but biopsy will confirm the exact nature of your problem.

I hope this helps you.
