I have an ice cold sensation INSIDE my chest. It's been on and off for the past few days. It's located near the sternum (starting at the xyphoid process). I don't know what brings it on and cannot find anything to relieve it.

Hello,
Welcome to justanswer and thank you for your question.

Pain in chest?
Shortness of breath?
Numbness in arm or shoulder?
Stress or anxiety issue?
Any chest injury?
Customer reply replied 5 years ago.

No. No other symptoms. It feels like some rubbed A535 inside of me.

Well, this condition can be due to- Costochondritis. It is an inflammation of the cartilage joining ribs to chest bone. It is this inflammation that causes the sharp chest pains inside the chest wall.
Nerve can be compressed due to inflamed cartilage.

To treat this condition doctor advise for medications. These are-
-Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like- Motrin, Naproxen ,Aleve.
-Antidepressants, specifically tricyclic antidepressants, are very helpful.
-Muscle relaxants, are also very helpful in such cases.

Also your doctor can advise for Chest X-ray to rule out any other possibility.

Please make an appointment with doctor for management of this issue. Good luck and take care.

I do not have any chest pain. I have an ice cold sensation. Sometimes I get a burning sensation in my stomach as well but I don't know if they're related.

Hello,

Welcome to Just Answer and thanks for your question. Without an examination there is no way to tell if they are related either. Certainly use of a heartburn preventive regularly for a week should eliminate the problem if it is heartburn. Sensory nerves can produce many different sensations when they are irritated or inflamed. The relationship between heat and cold, for instance, can be from the same underlying problem.
