one more question when a GP does a rectal does he usually do a smear test if the patient is worried about bleeding..I think my GP did one but cant recall if he said there wwas no stool there or said there is nothing in your stool

Hi Roxy,

I always test for blood unless there isn't any stool or mucus. Usually there is something to test.

ok...I hope he tested..I cant remember if he said there is no stool there...or there is nothing in your stool...

Yes, usually there is. Occasionally i will have someone with nothing to test but that does not happen very often.
