slightly dizzy and is complaining of upper shoulder/neck stiffness

This answer was rated:

My husband has not been feeling well the past 4 days. He is slightly dizzy and is complaining of upper shoulder/neck stiffness. I have also noticed he is more tired than usual and is dropping things a lot more frequently. He has had a low grade fever for a couple days. We have been giving Tylenol and getting extra rest and pushing water. Is is time to get a good look at him by a physician?

Hello,

mysticdoc :

Thanks for your question.

mysticdoc :

his symptoms are consistent with viral syndrome.

mysticdoc :

But, his dizziness, neck stiffness and low grade fever also raise the possibility of meningitis.

mysticdoc :

Meningitis is the infection in the brain.

mysticdoc :

This can be bacterial or viral.

mysticdoc :

Due to the worsening of symptoms, I will suggest urgent clinical evaluation especially to rule meningitis.

mysticdoc :

Hence, please see his doctor for further evaluation.

mysticdoc :

Best wishes
