Thanks for your question.
Herpes 'bumps' are actually blisters.
They contain clear fluid.
Herpes blisters appear in groups not i singles.
Herprs bumps are very painful.
Razor bumps can be caused by the bacterial infection.
They usually look solid or no fluids.
I do have 3 or 4 seperate bumps scattered around my pubic area
they appear along the use of razor ofcourse
yes, this is not herpes.
Ok..do you think the rash is making the bumps heal slower
the razor bumps are much less painful.
I am using the steroid cream..does that have an effect on the bumps
you can try applying bacitracin pintment as it treats the bacterial infection.
steroid cream reduces the inflammation but does not treat the bacterial infection.
Steroid cream may even worsen the infection.
Ok what bacteria is this
or is that too hard to say online
the skin bacteria like staphylococcus.
this is the most common one causing infection.
ok the red dots are not painful they do not burn
so assume they are razor bumps
they will go away over time.
ok..if it was genital herpes..or even oral..how long does it take to have your first outbreak
meaning the time you come in contact with the virus to your first outbreak
it take one week or even longer.
one week is the standard time.
or are you in the "clear" by 2 months
sometimes it can take years.
So to test for herpes..I heard bad things about blood tests..
the reason behind this is herpes shos up when your immunity is down or you are under stress provided you got the virus at some pint of time.
blood test is not accurate
how would I know..that I do not have it
herpes is best tested when there is an outbreak.
if you never had any outbreak, then there is no definite way to say.
the blood tests only suggest any recent or past infection.
but it does not tell you if you have the virus or not.
hence there is no way to know till you have any outbreak.
I have been worrying since May 1 that I may have contracted it and with this rash I got very scared..plus a sinus infection
If you have been exposed to herpes and you are certain your partner has it, then you can take the medication to prevent it.
I performed oral sex on a girl
otherwise, there is no cause for concern.
but if you do not know if she has it or not, you do not need to worry.
So you are saying that I should just relax
there is no point worrying.
Some doctors on here told me to take the test just to relax my mind. My own doctor told me the same as you did..and others have agreed with you
I am just struggling with it
I understand your concern.
But you should not be scared as many people do not get it even if they are exposed to.
your body fights off most of the time.
that is why please relax since you do not have any symptoms.
chances are you never got it.
I am scared I could pass ito n thoigh
If I did get it
the same rule applies.
if your partner never gets it, then you did not have it.
even if your partner has it, does not mean you are the one that gave it.
Ok..lets say on May 1 was when I was afraid I contracted it..
I meet a new girl start dating and within 2-3 weeks of May 1 we have sex
could she get it without me having any signs or anything like that
technically yes, she can get it--and she can carry it without any symptoms.
so that is why this is a wild goose chase.
nobody knows who has it until somebody has some symptoms.
now you get the point.
I mean it is possible your whole community has the virus without even knowing it!
and that is the nature of herpes virus --very elusive
I do understand but I am having such a hard time with relaxing and letting it go. I have talked to several experts on here and they all say the same thing really even my own doctor
so dont bother chasing it
every itch every tingle every bump I examine and stress about
also please remember, the current treatment is effective in controlling the outbreak and also transmission.
since you have goo knowledge of this infection by now, you should think logically.
when in doubt ask your doctor for clinical evaluation.
I do have good knowledge of it from this..
so this should be comforting for you.
Well judging by what you said about the bumps earlier..it does not appear to be herpes
no it is not.
Ok well thank you a lot
all the best
If you test negative, that means you have never been exposed to the virus.
if you come positive, that means you had exposure in the recent or distant past. This is does not mean active infection in the absence of symptoms.
