Klonopin is clonazepam and belongs to benzodiazepine family of medications.
This medication is specifically used to treat anxiety, panic attacks etc.
You should not stop klonopin abruptly as it causes rebound anxiety and withdrawal symptoms.
Ideally you need to reduce klonopin dose by 25% every 2 weeks.
You need to do this under care of a psychiatrist.
An antidepressant like citalopram, sertraline, duloxetine may be helpful in reducing your withdrawal symptoms.
Other medications that can be used to help with the klonopin withdrawal symptoms are hydroxyzine, or buspirone.
