Anthony Bray MD :

Hello!

Anthony Bray MD :

Well if you have upper respiratory allergies then you would likely have symptoms of sneezing and itching of the eyes or palate for example. These would be less likely to be symptoms of a sinus infection.

Anthony Bray MD :

Congestion or a sense of stuffiness could go with either.

Anthony Bray MD :

If you had a thick yellow or greenish nasal discharge then this would be more likely a symptom of infection. Pain of the sinus areas could be with either but more likely a symptom with a sinus infection.

Anthony Bray MD :

If you also had a sore throat then this would more likely correspond with a sinus infection as opposed to allergies.

Anthony Bray MD :

I hope this information helps. If you have further questions then let me know and i will be happy to get back with you. If my answer has been helpful and to your satisfaction then please remember to press the "ACCEPT" button. Thank you and Best Regards,

Anthony Bray MD :

Hello again,

Anthony Bray MD :

If you have a sinus infection then you would benefit from an antibiotic. It woyuld typically clear much faster with the benefit of an antibiotic.

Anthony Bray MD :

You do not typically run a fever with a sinus infection unless it gets very severe. Adults do not run a fever very easily.

Anthony Bray MD :

I hope this helps. Further questions are welcome if you have others. Best regards,
