Is her age 30?

When did she develop it?

What are her symptoms now?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Jip, this is my twin sister. She started feeling bad around saturday last week. She is dizzy, has a terrible headache, her spleen is swollen, she has trouble eating as she just do not have the strength to do it. Apparently her symptoms are more or less the same as tick bite fever. However they did do blood tests. and confimed the diagnoses.

Thank you for the information,

It is Infectious Mononucleosis commonly called Mono.

It is also known as Glandular fever.

It is caused by EB virus.

It is a common infection.

The symptoms are similar as you describe.

The symptoms can last for months but usually gets resolved without complications.

Treatment is mainly symptomatic.

Taking rest, adequate fluid, nutrition & medicines for pain, fever are usually enough.

It is often transmitted by body fluids like saliva.

So it is also called Kissing disease.

I hope this information helps.

I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.

Please feel free for any follow up query.

So will it be safe for me to visit her this weekend or would you advise against it. Furthermore what are the chances of her gettting it next year again?
Expert:  Dr. Saha replied 5 years ago.
Mono infection usually goes away in two to four weeks.

It is unlikely to recur again.

You can visit her.

Take personal hygienic measures, avoid kissing her.
