How long and how frequently are you having the symptoms?

Do the symptoms occur daily?

Are the symptoms getting worse?

When have you consulted doctor last?

Do you take any medicine?

Do you have any other symptom or previous illness?

Thank you.

Thank you for the information,

The wheezing sound can be from bronchospasm.

As you were smoker for last 35 years, chronic obstructive lung disease can be possible.

In case of mild heart failure there can be wheeze.

Shortness of breathing can occur if there is severe spasm of airway or heart failure is too much.

You should have an examination of chest and heart to find out the cause.

Chest X-ray, EKG will be needed.

If the doctor feels lung function test can be taken if it is due to lung cause.

Treatment will depend on the findings.

I hope this information helps.

I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.
