Thanks for your question.
Do you have ringing in one ear or both?
MRI brain done or not?
Is there any associated vertigo ?
Thanks for your reply.
Ringing in one ear can be because of few problems like menieres disease, acoustic neuroma, inner ear infections etc.
If Hearing is normal then menieres is not a possibility but acoustic neuroma which is brain lesion(very slow growing and not dangerous) can only be picked by MRI. So any patient having ringing specially in one ear should undergo an MRI.
Sometime no cause is found , you should ask your doctor to give you betahistine(SERC) tablet to see if this helps . Moreover you can try hearing aid, sometime in ringing with no cause it helps. Even with no hearing loss it helps. Just a suggestion.
I hope this helps you.
