I have tried so many meds, shampoos, etc. Nothing has helped. I can use biofreeze and that helps temporairly. Are there any new answers? Thank you

Welcome to Just Answer and thanks for your question. Prurigo nodularis is a strange disease in which the original cause is scratching. Repeated scratching damages nerve endings which send stronger signals that there is an itch, starting a merry-go-round of increasing itching that becomes chronic and horrible. Oral corticosteroids and strong antihistamines, corticosteroid injections into the lesions, anti-depressants, and "freezing" the lesions are some of the treatments besides topical creams. PUVA (light treatment) is another method.
