getting over a bad case of the flu (type A)

This answer was rated:

I am just getting over a bad case of the flu (type A). It has been one week since the initial onset of symptoms. The fever is gone but I am feeling incredibly dizzy! I am able to still do work and walk around, but it's making me a little anxious. Can someone please tell me if this is a normal symptom after a bad flu?

DR HASAN :

Hi

DR HASAN :

Thanks for your question

DR HASAN :

Are you feling spining sensation while being dizzy?

JACUSTOMER-lw5yxjsl- :

Yes, at times. The sensation comes and goes.

DR HASAN :

For how long it remains

DR HASAN :

Do you have ear ringing or decreased hearing?

JACUSTOMER-lw5yxjsl- :

For about an hour or two at a time. There is no ringing or change in hearing

DR HASAN :

But you are sure that its spinning sensation not just unsteadiness?

JACUSTOMER-lw5yxjsl- :

It quite possibly might just be unsteadiness... the best way to describe it is light-headedness

DR HASAN :

your blood pressure?

JACUSTOMER-lw5yxjsl- :

I have never had a problem with my blood pressure

DR HASAN :

Do you feel unsteadiness while you stand from a sitting position?

JACUSTOMER-lw5yxjsl- :

no, it's constant when sitting

DR HASAN :

Fever?

DR HASAN :

Nasal obstruction, cough , sputum?

JACUSTOMER-lw5yxjsl- :

My fever ended about two days ago. I still get the "cold sweats" in the morning but my temperature is normal when I check. I am still struggling with a cough. It seems to be better today than yesterday.

DR HASAN :

nasal obstruction?

JACUSTOMER-lw5yxjsl- :

I have a bit of a drip

JACUSTOMER-lw5yxjsl- :

but I can still breathe through my nose

DR HASAN :

Ok thanks for your reply and info

DR HASAN :

You are just going through a viral upper respiratory tract infection.

DR HASAN :

It takes two weeks to go

DR HASAN :

The dizziness you feel is also due to the same

DR HASAN :

but you should drink lot of fluids to combat this

DR HASAN :

If you have a blood pressure monitor , monitor this

DR HASAN :

For pain and fever if you feel you can use Tab Advil

DR HASAN :

moreover you should take OTC tab claritin once daily

DR HASAN :

Donot worry, nothing is serious

JACUSTOMER-lw5yxjsl- :

I appreciate your answer!!!!

DR HASAN :

But drinking plenty of fluids is very much required

DR HASAN :

Thank you

DR HASAN :

Anything else you want to ask

JACUSTOMER-lw5yxjsl- :

No, that's pretty much it. I just was worried that the dizziness was from something else possibly

JACUSTOMER-lw5yxjsl- :

but it looks like it's just a lingering result of the virus

DR HASAN :

I wish you good luck

JACUSTOMER-lw5yxjsl- :

thank you
