Resolved Question:

right hand is puffy and stiff, - I have heart failure (on 120 lasix) and kidney functioning at 25% -- face feels puffy too. Should I be concerned. Right hand is okay -- also having carpel tunnel acting up in left hand during the night.

mysticdoc :

Hello,

mysticdoc :

thanks for your question.

mysticdoc :

these symptoms are likely from the accumulated fluid in the hand and the wrist.

mysticdoc :

lasix should help getting rid of the excess fluid.

mysticdoc :

Also diabetes affects the hand nerves causing carpal tunnel syndrome.,

mysticdoc :

You should also consider seeing a neurologist for further evaluation of carpal tunnel syndrome.

JACUSTOMER-qfv903z0- :

just wanted to know if I should see my doctor or not because the excess fluid is after having taken the 120 lasix -also because it is unilateral retention.

mysticdoc :

you should see your doctor then to rule out any blood clots in the affected side as that can cause unilateral swelling.

mysticdoc :

the lasix dose may need to be increased if there is no blood clots.

mysticdoc :

good luck,
