I have pain in my neck on the left side. It is an area about the size of a quater that is tender to the touch. I feel pain as well when I tilt my head to the otherside. It is also effecting my lower jaw. I do have a cold right now but I do not feel any swelling in my gland this also seems to be a little lower. It is directly below the ear not quite mid way down the left side of my neck. taking ibuprophen does help with the discomfort.

mysticdoc :

there are lymph node deep seated in the tissue, which may not be felt well from outside.

mysticdoc :

the muscle spasm is another possible cause since you have difficulty moving your neck other side.

mysticdoc :

Ibuprofen is helpful due to its anti inflammatory action.

mysticdoc :

this should improve over next few days.
