I have an indentation at the crown of my head - maybe 2 diameter,

Resolved Question:

I have an indentation at the crown of my head - maybe 2" diameter, with a lower line through the middle from front to back. It doesn't hurt at first when touched, but then feels uncomfortable later - like after wearing a ponytail for a long time. I noticed it first about 6 months ago. The tenderness does seem to come and go over time. Any ideas what the problem could be? (Background info - 38 yr old female, hypothyroid, menstrual migraines, 5'4", 118lbs.)

Hi,

Thank you for your question,

Have you lost weight over these 6 months ?

Have you seen a doctor for this ?

Any tests done yet ?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
I had an MRI about a year ago(looking for cause of shooting head pains) - no abnormalities found. I've lost about 7 lbs over the last 2-3 months, but have also had dental problems making it very difficult to chew or drink anything hot or cold.

Hi,

Thank you for your input,

Is there any hair loss on that part of the head ?

Any symptoms of itching ?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
Neither.

Hi,

Thank you for your input,

There are several causes that can result in such indentation, these include infections,

low calcium levels due to problems in parathyroid hormone, renal diseases and some

time cancers.

It is important for your to get an x ray/CT scan of this area to rule out any thing

dangerous like cancer as soon as possible.

I hope this answers your question.

Do let me know if you have more queries.

Have a nice day.
