Resolved Question:

I have been running a low grade fever (99.5) and have had a very strong cough in which I some times cough up mucus for over a week. I have had a fever of 101.5 return twice now. I went to Patient First but they said it was nothing, I tend to disagree, the coughing is also causing my chest to be sore, my throat to be sore, and a headache. Do you have any advise or what this might be.

sorry to hear about your symptoms.

Persistent cough along with low grade fever should raise the suspicion for community acquired pneumonia.

Usually viral infection is common.

But, if your symptoms are not improving at all over last 1 week, then bacterial infection should be suspected.

You should get another clinical evaluation, get a chest Xray.

Antibiotic may need to be prescribed if required.

in the meantime, keep yourself well hydrated, take lots of vitamin C, rest & theraflu as required.
