My left arm, mainly, and sometimes also my right arm go to sleep after I have been asleep for several hours, especially if I lay on top of them.

This is usually due to degeneration of the neck or shoulders, it can compress on the nerves and cause temporary arm numbness/tingling. Most likely due to the aging process.


It might be wise to get some neck x-rays or CT to see how much nerve compression there actually is.
