Expert:  Dr. Tharun replied 6 years ago.

Is there any redness in the nipple?

Any swelling or lump?

Any discharge from the nipple?

Any medications?

Please let me know

Customer: replied 6 years ago.

no redness, no swelling, no discharge, no drugs except lovastatin, mild alchohol.

Sensitivity confined to one nipple only and just at the tip.

Expert:  Dr. Tharun replied 6 years ago.

It may be case of mastitis i.e. inflammation of the breast tissue and will reduce with painkillers like advil or motrin. If any signs of infection like redness, discharge or raised temperature appears see your doctor who can do a clinical examination and start on a course of antibiotics if there is infection.

I hope this helps you

Will this condition persist or will it eventually stop of its own volition? It has been sensitive for about three weeks, but does not get any worse or better.
Expert:  Dr. Tharun replied 6 years ago.

It should recover with time.Persisting pain warrants a visit to the doctor.
I would advise you to start on anti inflammatory like advil and see for a week for any improvement. If no, see your doctor.
