Hi,
HIV virus is of two main types, type 1 and type 2. They have similar disease profile, but different tests are required for both. In US, HIV 1 is more common, and HIV 2 is rare. In Africa, both these strains of HIV virus are prevalent.

HIV 1 and HIV 2 AB or antibody tests is done to screen for both HIV 1 and HIV 2 virus. Non reactive tests means both tests were negative.
