This answer was rated:

what does a heterogeneous mass, left kidney mid and upper pole and suspicious of neoplasm mean ?

Kidney is made of upper pole, lower pole and mid region.

Heterogeneous mass means that the lesion has varied composition like blood vessels, connective tissue and other structures as found in cancer.Homogeneous mass means more of a uniform appearance on the scans and indicates towards a benign disease.

The fact that the lesion has affected the upper pole and the mid pole means that the lesion is big.

Neoplasm means that it could be cancerous.

thank you for that answer. If this mass turns out to be cancer what would be the expected longgevety of the person

Mass size 6.7cmlrft renal mass. also enlarged fatty liver

It depends upon the stage of the cancer and spread of the tumor. If the tumor is initial stages it has a good prognosis with 5 yr survival rate of 80-90%.

Moderate stages have 60- 80 % survival rates at the end of 5 yrs.

Late stages - 40- 60% .

Advanced stage with generalized spread in the body : 0 - 10 %.

I hope this helps you
