What does CA 125 (beckman) 65.0 mean What does CEA (beckman)

Resolved Question:

What does CA 125 (beckman) 65.0 mean? What does CEA (beckman) 6.1 mean? My mom just rcvd these results. She has many health problems, diabetic since 28 yrs old (shes 65). Does this mean she has cancer or could it be something else? She also has lots of calcium build up in her body we've been told. Does this have anything to do with it?

Welcome to Just Answer and thanks for your question. CA 125 is a cancer antigen. Beckman is the manufacturer of the instrument that is used to find and to monitor CA 125 in ovarian cancer. Levels above 35 U/mL are considered abnormal. CEA stands for carcinoembryonic antigen. The normal range for CEA in an adult non-smoker is <2.5 ng/ml and for a smoker <5.0 ng/ml. The results aren't that far off normal for CEA and probably do not mean she has cancer.
