almost 2 years I have been getting pelvic pain/discomfort..thickening

Customer Question

For almost 2 years I have been getting pelvic pain/discomfort. I have been to my Dr's who told me he could feel some swelling (or thickening as he referred# XXXXX he pressed on the lower part of my tummy. He prescribed me antibiotics which worked at the time but the discomfort returns #not as bad as the first time#. It isn't constant and doesn't happen every month #I would say on average about every 6 weeks). I have also started bleeding a little a couple of days before a period, this stops then I have a normal period. I have had a clear cervical smear about 18 months ago and have had a scan which showed nothing. I am also getting an itching around my vaginal area. And today having had a period last week I have bled a little. Is there anything more I could request from my Dr. Do you recognise these symptoms? Obviously my main concern is cervical cancer? I would also like to say these symptoms seemed to start when I stopped taking my contraceptive pill.

You should ask for an interavaginal sonigram, which would show if you had any thickened lining and may need a scraping.
