Resolved Question:

I keep getting kidney pain at night while i am sleeping. It always wakes me up due to the pain level. I have to get up and take Ibuprophrin and usually have to use the restroom. (not urinating but to go #2). About 30 mins after the ibuprophrin and going to the restroom, the pain goes away and I can go back to sleep. What could be causing this pain?

Hello,

Sorry for the sufferings.

I need to know some points regarding your query so that I can answer better.

How long are you having this?

Did you have any history of kidney disease?

Exactly at which area do you feel pain?

How are stool and urine?

Did you have any test or treatment?

Did you have any other symptom or previous illness?

Thank you

Thank you for all the information,

Intestinal cramps can be felt before passing stool.

Though it is felt in abdomen , sometimes it can be felt in lower back.

However if it continuing for years & the pain is severe , you can have an examination by a gastroenterologist.

Any inflammation of the colon needs to be ruled out.

Recurrence of kidney stones should be excluded too.

I hope this information helps.

Happy to assist, if you need any clarification.

Please feel free for any follow up query.

Best wishes.
