On medication for hypertension. If blood pressure has never gone above 130 for almost 2 yrs., averages around 120 but is frequently lower, is it physically possible to still be termed someone who is "stressed"?
Hello,

Greetings,

High blood pressure can be a symptom of stress. But all the symptoms may not appear or prominent in one person.

Hope this information will help you.

Clarify? Does that mean one can be stressed with an upper number of 114 through 130 in a blood pressure read?

When you are on antihypertensive medicine your pressure can be normal even if you are stressed. Can you specify that in what back ground you are willing to know this hypothetical question?

Bcuz I am curious why someone could say I am stressed when I do not feel stress, am not going through any particularly stressful period of life and have normal blood pressure, how it could be possible. I had never heard of such a thing and actually had thought medication would not be able to keep the pressure down if someone were stressed, hence the curiousity.

With medicine pressure usually remains under control. But sometimes it may be difficult to control. Stress can have various effect on physical and mental health. Besides blood pressure somebody can have other physical symptoms like palpitation, sleep disturbance, headache, chest pain, back pain, stomach upset etc.
