Having an infection anywhere can cause fever if the infection is active however if the temperature is significantly higher than normal then we would be worried that there was infection spreading into the blood stream. An evaluation of temperature, blood pressure, respiratory rate as well as some blood tests would be warranted if you were feeling very unwell.

infection any where is the wrong word . the right words are infections involving a system or an organ can cause rise in body temperature, provided it has stimulated the bodys defence mechanism to react against the infection infection of skin, scalp , mild infection of throat , prostate , do not induce fevers. chronic malaria, dengue does not have fever, chronic gonorrhoea , syphillis and even aids do not necessarily have fever. SO you have a high basal metabolic rate, which make you feel warm and may be your thyroid is over active and burning excessive calories.

prostate is a gland and infection of a prostate has not to be treated like a routine infection, because what exactly has to be done is culture, sensitivity of prostatic fluid and biopsy of prostate, very easy done, and then wait for a correct report and then use the antibiotic to which bacteria are sensitive. so if med is wrong infection can spread or one can have mixed infections, depending on the immunity responses.
