My daughter has not had a period or 6 years She will be 48 in Dec. She does not use HRT's, but she does use an estrogen creame from time to time in the past year. She had a pap smear with some celluliar changes 4 or 5 yrs ago Then on Friday she started bleeding. Very much like a period.I am quite concerned, given her past pap results.
Gender: FemaleAge: 47 Already Tried: Her must recent pap smears have beeb negitive.
Dear XXXXXda,
Greetings and welcome to justanswer,
How long is the bleeding present and what is the amount?
did you consult a doctor yet?
The bleeding starting on last Friday & lasted 3 days. The amount was less than it would have been if it were a regular period. The flow was old blood as will as fresh blood, but lesser amount. She will not beable to see a Dr. until the 21st of Oct.
Thank you for the information,
There are some common causes of such bleeding after menopause. The common ones are cervical cancer, hypothyroidism, uterine fibroids, genital infection etc.
Since she also had the cellular changes in last pap smear so you should have the repeat pap smear or cone biopsy and uterine sonography done to know the possible cause of bleeding and rule out cancer. The cellular changes may be associated with cervical cancer.
The chnaces of infectious cause are less since she does not have fever and other symptoms. The other causes should also be ruled out.
