Patient has had a wheazing cough for over a year. Coughing is almost daily, but it is not continuous. What can it be, and how can it be cured ? Due to financial problems, a pulmonary specialist is not an option. Pls help.
Gender: MaleAge: 58 Already Tried: the mist mask, the abuterol , something like that. That was tried and it worked for a while, but came back. most of the over the counter cough medications.
Hi,
Atenolol can cause bronchoconstriction, hence asthma like symptoms like cough, wheezing etc.
These symptoms may start at anytime even after staying on atenolol for long time in susceptible persons.
You should be switched to other BP lowering medication like amlodipine or losartan
This should improve his symptoms.
