My husband had his last BCG today. He sat on the toilet for three hours pushing to urinate. Now his testicles hurt. It is 1 am. Does he need to go to the hospital?
Gender: MaleAge: 47 Already Tried: he is using an ice pack. He also has nausea off and on.
Hello;Thank you for writing in tonight. Has he urinated at all? When was the last time and how much? What time was the BCG?
Hello;Rather than wait for the answer to those questions I asked, I think I'll answer. I think you already know the answer. There is the possibility that he is having some urinary retention or some complication. At this point, I would recommend evaluation. I hope this helps. I hope he gets some relief. He urinated just a little while ago. Everything was fine. I just need to know why his testicle hurts. Can he damage himself from pushing too much.
This would not likely be due to straining. More likely, this would be due to some referred pain from possibly a urinary issue. With the recent BCG, straining to void, and nausea, I would be concerned about possible urinary retention or other complication. At this point, I would definitely consider calling the on-call urologist. There should be someone on-call that can be reached via the office number. Out of curiosity, is the testicle swollen or discolored? Ms. Lisa40089.222378044
He has been using ice. Does not look swollen or discolored. Thanks for your help. I will check up on him again and see if he will let me call his on call doctor. Thank you. Have a good night.
