Most nocturnal cramps are of unknown cause. Occassionally an electrolyte imbalance with low sodium, calcium or magnesium can cause this. So have your doc check these. Also a low iron and ferritin level has been associated also.
Treatment is to correct any abnormalities of the above if they are found. Otherwise quinine or benadryl at bedtime can help. Also stretching exercises of the legs before bed helps.

I have been taking vitamins for the last four weeks CLA 1000mg, Vit E 800 I.U, B 50 Probiotic formula and MTV. I am weaning off of Lexapro, alo taking HCTZ. Would weaning off Lexapro have anything to do with the cramping?
