I'm a 47 year old man recovering nature's way from the flu. For about three days now I've had abdominal pain on my left side just below my rib cage. The pain isn't horrible and it's alleviated for a while by eating. So what could it be?
Gender: MaleAge: 47 Already Tried: Ibuprofen for the pain, AlkaSeltzer Plus for the flu symptoms.
Greetings.
Pain on the left side, relieved by food, history of Ibuprofen points to peptic ulcer disease. Following may help you;
1) Stop Ibuprofen, instead take acetaminophen / paracetamol instead, if needed.
2) Prilosec
3) Tums / Maalox
