Hello,I am sorry you are not feeling well. Are you having any fever?Sore throat? Are you feeling short of breath?Has the panic attack gone away? Are you taking any other medications?Dr Abby
yes throat is sore my axiety is going away now was short of breath when i was panicing but my breathing slowed down now i took nyquill and took half of perkicet for pain thats all i ahve taken today no fever i did have a fever in the begining
I am glad that the anxiety is going away. The typical swine flu symptoms are fever (at least 100 degrees) sore throat, cough, fatigue and headache. Many people have also had diarrhea and vomiting (which is not as common with seasonal influenza). If you have had these symptoms, it is possible that you have come down with a case of the swine flu.We believe that people with swine flu are contagious beginning one day before the symptoms start until the fever is gone, although children, the elderly and people with chronic diseases may shed the virus for longer periods of time. If you are otherwise healthy and your fever is gone, you are likely no longer contagious.Things that you should watch for are shortness of breath, recurrence of fever, chest pain or any worsening of your symptoms. If any of these occur, then you should see your doctor. You should also see your doctor if you have any underlying chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes or if you are a smoker. For more information about influenza and swine flu, go to this website; (copy and paste the link into your browser)www.uptodate.com/patients search under influenza symptoms and treatment.Again, if you have any shortness of breath, if you are not getting better or if your fever comes back see your doctor. Otherwise, over the counter medications such as nyquil and mucinex are helpful. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.Dr AbbyIf you are satisfied with my answer, please remember to click accept. thank you doctor abby i just really want to know if i had swine flu and im on the 6 th day am i out of danger from dying or getting pnemonia
The only way to truly tell if you have or had swine flu is to be tested. If you had a fever over 100, sore throat, fatigue, cough and headache and live in an area where there is swine flu, then you very well could have it.People at risk of serious consequences of swine flu are children, elderly and those that have underlying health problems (emphysema, diabetes, asthma)If you are healthy, you should be fine and be able to fight off the swine flu without any problems.Symptoms of pneumonia are high fever, persistent shortness of breath, chest pain and cough. If you have these symptoms, you should see your doctor for a chest xray.It can take 7-14 days for a cough from a virus to go away. As long as you feel well and it is just a lingering cough that is slowly improving without shortness of breath and fever, it is unlikely that you would have pneumonia.Dr AbbyIf you are satisfied with my answer, please remember to click accept.
