when getting up quickly from a crossed leg position, could a sudden pain in the leg, centered around the knee but also from the ankle to the hip, be a blood clot or something that should be seen urgently?
Gender: Female Already Tried: heat and resting with legs elevated
Hello,How old are you ?Do you have any other symptom ?Since when do you have this ?Regards,
It's my daughter, she is 22 she sits at the computer for her work, however she has a toddler so she is up moving quite a bit during the day also. She was on the floor cross-legged and when she stood up got a severe pain in her leg sometime earlier this evening. it's around the top of her knee and a pain down to the ankle and up to the hip.
Hello,
This is likely to be from a pinched nerve caused by sitting cross leged for a long time, and not from a blood clot or other pathology.
She needs to avoid sitting cross leged for long periods of time and stretch her legs once a while, that should help prevent this pain.
Kind Regards,
Dr.Joshi
