In mid July this year, my right foot became swollen, tender & stiff about mid-foot down to the tips of my toes. I went to an orthopedic dr who put me into an Aircast "boot" for 5 wks with outpatient phys therapy 3X a wk for 3 wks. He saw no fractures on the Xrays he took prior to putting me in the boot. After 5 wks, he released me, saying I could take the boot off and call him if I had any further trouble. It's 2 wks later and my foot has again swollen back to its original pre-boot size and hurts like the dickens again---the skin on top of my foot is red and warm, too. I can't afford to keep going to an ortho dr who does no good. Any ideas what this is and if I can do something at home for it?

Hi, I would suggest that you get a doppler ultrasound of your right limb done to rule out a venous obstruction - which might be causing your symptoms. Let me know if you need any other information. Please click ACCEPT so that i get paid for my work. A bonus would be appreciated. Regards.
