I feel anxious more often than not, my back, arms, my whole body is type and stiff the back of my neck is always sore and tender and i feel light headed all the time..I don't know if it's due to tight muscles behind my neck that is making me dizzy and tired or it's my nerves...The symptoms are 10times worse 10 days before my period is due i am 42 and it seems to be getting worse i dread my period i have 10 days after my period where i cope well and i feel at peace but then to the lead up of my period i started feeling sick, sore and anxious again..What bothers me the most at the moment is the constant stiffness in my neck and shoulders i can't seem to get them to loosen up i have had massages, osepath etc i feel good temporarily then back to feeling like crap. I take vitamin B etc but i feel helpless is there an underlying illness here that im not aware off. Should i investigate my symptoms further or is it a classic case of nerves?
Hello,
Welcome to Just Answer and thanks for your question. It probably is due partly to your anxiety which causes muscles to tense up and leads to pain. Anxiety can cause all kinds of pain symptoms. It is probably exacerbated by hormone fluctuation. If you aren't taking something for anxiety already, your doctor may want to try a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. One in particular (fluoxetine) is prescribed for anxiety, for depression, and for premenstrual dysphoric disorder. It may take care of all your problems.

I'm not comfortable at all taking drugs is there any other more natural type method i could use to calm my nerves if it is anxiety related?
Relist: I prefer a second opinion.
