what does it mean when you loss the sensation to urinated?
Gender: FemaleAge: 43 Already Tried: I have tried to take antibiotics but it has not worked.
Do you mean you are having incontinence of urine (it comes out without your control)?
Or retention (you don't feel the urge to go, and the urine is building up in the bladder)?
no nothing comes out uncontrolablly.
it is retention....the urine is building up in my bladder
I also hurt in my left kidney.....I feel sick to my stomach alot
Is this something your doctor knows about?
Are you physically able to urinate (it just is difficult)? Or are you not able to go at all?
Did you have any studies performed? Urinalysis?
I am going to see a dr next friday.
Yes I am physically able to urinate.
No test done yet.....i guess they will do test at my appointment.
I was just wanting to know what i may be facing.....i am kind of scared.
OK.
A couple of last questions.
How did you get the antibiotics -- did a doctor not already do a urinalysis?
And is the pain in the middle of the back, or off to one side?
Its just some antibiotics that I had amoxil.
the pain in on the side of my back and sometimes goes to the front of my side. I can tell its my kidney because i have had kidney infection on this side many times before.
Well, certainly, since you have a history of kidney "infections" -- this kidney pain and urination difficulties could be related to this, and if your pain worsens or fever develops -- you should not wait until Friday to be seen by your doctor. Infections can cause difficulty with urination due to the inflammation in the urethra, making it more difficult to urinate (but still being able to "force" it out).
Other possibilities:
certain medications can slow down the function of the bladder
kidney stones that become obstructive in the ureter (kidney pain) or urethra (trouble with urination)
and other less common causes.
Certainly -- I would discuss this with your doctor as soon as possible, because if this is a brewing infection -- it is best to get it analyzed and treated early (especially since you seem to be prone to these infections in the past). The amoxicillin may not be the best antibiotic in these cases.
